[Analysis] What Talent Can You Recruit on LinkedIn, Facebook and MySpace?

Wouldn’t it be great if you knew where your target audience is once looking for potential employees? Now you can! The guys from find.ly have analysed 400,000 network profiles and divided them by career interest and network.

This cannot be taken as a rule of thumb, but at least it gives us an idea of where the audience is. The social networks included Linkedin, Facebook and MySpace.

Linkedin

Linkedin is clearly a place for people who are more creative and tech-savvy. Most of the companies and individuals in the social network are somehow related with web, those who are considered either innovators or early adopters. But this is clearly changing, with Linkedin reaching 100 million users (and growing) we are seeing different types of professionals joining the network everyday.

So, if you are looking for a designer, creative, planner, strategist, business, consultant, engineer, financial accountant, web designer, developer, programmer, marketer, branding… go to Linkedin.

Facebook

Facebook is a place where everyone is at. From interns to lawyers, from accountants to recruiters. But remember, people don’t tend to use Facebook to look for jobs or network in a career level. Things might be changing with the launch of applications such as BeKnown and BranchOut, but keep that in mind once building your recruitment strategy on Facebook.

So, if you’re looking for an accountant, administrator, recruiter, customer support, intern, legal secretaries, lawyers, solicitors, quality controllers, supervisors, operators, public relations, store managers, merchandiser, sales… go to Facebook.

MySpace

According to the numbers presented by find.ly, MySpace never got more than 2% in any areas, probably meaning that most MySpace users are not very concerned with careers, at least, not there. They are probably using other networks for that.

But if you’re looking for an intern, specially in the music industry, you should consider going to… MySpace.
