Hager Group is a leading supplier of solutions and services for electrical installations in residential, commercial and industrial buildings. The company was founded in 1955 by Hermann Hager and Dr. Oswald Hager together with their father Peter, and today remains an independent business, owned and run by members of the Hager family, with its head office in Blieskastel, Germany.

The organisation of the company as a European Company (Societas Europaea, SE) underlines both its cultural diversity and its European roots. Hager Group is, nevertheless, a worldwide business: 11,500 employees generate a turnover of 2 billion euros (in 2018). Components and solutions are produced in 22 production sites around the globe and customers in more than 120 countries all over the world trust in them.


A global electrical company needed to attract graduate, sales and engineering talent to a small-town location.

What we did

Through a combination of activities, we launched the employer brand on social media – boosting following, awareness and the employer brand as a whole.

  • Strategy: We created a 5-year corporate digital strategy for Hager Group talent and digital communications.
  • Social media management: For a brand to be social, the brand needs to be present online. We built a large following of social media users that were not only relevant to Hager Group, but were also interacting with them on a daily basis. Community management ensured that the brand stayed engaged with its large community online.
  • Content curation and creation: To tell the Hager Group story we created content that aligned with the brand’s values and visions. We told stories online about the company and the people within the company – showing the human side of the brand. We also used some platforms to share the latest industry news, placing the brand as a leader in the industry.
  • Social advertising: The introduction of algorithmic timelines has meant social advertising is more necessary than ever. Through a number of different campaigns, we boosted engagement, following and influence on social using paid media.
  • Training: We’ve provided extensive training in social media and employer branding for international teams at Hager Group.


This is a long-term campaign – over the past 4 years, we’ve seen an increase in traffic and a jump in influence on social. Starting from near-nothing, Hager Group now has a targeted and engaged social following of nearly 200,000.
